Multiple post-season honors pour in for Buford softball players following them defending their state championship title.

Buford seniors Adriana Martinez, Mackenzie Pickens and Madison Pickens were selected to play in the Georgia Dugout Club All-State Game. A total of 80 softball players from around the state were chosen to play in the game that is to be held on November 18 at Truist Park.

The Region 8-7A coaches released their picks for the all-region honors.

Madison Pickens was selected as the 2023 Region 8-7A Offensive Player of the Year. Madison will play for the University of Louisville softball program after graduating from Buford.

Sophomore Caroline Stanton was honored as the 2023 Region 8-7A Pitcher of the Year.

The first-team all-region picks are Martinez, Mackenzie Pickens and sophomore Addie Rackley. Martinez will be heading to Boston College next year where she will play for their softball program while Mackenzie Pickens will take her talent to the Ole Miss softball program.

Seniors Tavye Borders and Emma Grace Williams, juniors Kylie Gower and Izzy Rettiger, as well as sophomore Summer Castorri were named second-team all-region team. Borders will be joining Martinez at Boston College next year while Emma Grace Williams is heading to play for Florida Atlantic.
