A brother and sister were found deceased on the shoulder of a local interstate and it has been ruled a double homicide according to the Gwinnett County Police Department.
The Gwinnett County Police Department dispatched officers to an unknown medical call on Sunday, August 27 shortly before 7:30 p.m. to Interstate 85 at the I-985 split in Buford.
Officers located a male and female deceased on the shoulder of the interstate in the grass and no vehicle was found that could have belonged to them was found in the area.
The victims are Maria Rosaria Montes Dorantes, 23 and her younger brother, Juan Angel Montes, 16 of Griffin.
“The bodies were taken to the Medical Examiner’s Office, where investigators determined that their deaths resulted from gunshot wounds,” said Gwinnett County Police in a released statement.
Investigators are busy following up on leads and actively seeking any information in this case.
