Two Buford High School’s Fine Arts Department groups are on a once-in-a-lifetime trip to ring in 2024. The Buford Band of Wolves and Chamber Chorus will perform in London, England on New Year’s Day.

On Oct. 18, 2022, dignitaries from London arrived at BHS to formally invite the Band of Wolves and Chamber Chorus to perform in London on New Year’s Day 2024. The groups were formally invited to perform in London on Oct. 18, 2022, when dignitaries visited the school to extend the invitation. The invitation was for the Band of Wolves to march in the London New Year’s Day Parade and for the Chamber Chorus to perform in the London International Choral Festival.

The Band of Wolves will be marching through London on Jan. 1 and can be watched live starting at 7 a.m. EST on PBS. The band will have their grandstand performance about midpoint of the parade according to the band’s social media account. In addition to being broadcast on PBS, the parade will also be streamed live on WABE.org. For an inside look into the band’s program and their first international trip, tune into the parade 30 minutes before it starts at 7 a.m.

Buford’s Chamber Chorus may not be marching through the streets of London, but they will be doing something just as special. They will be performing at Cadogan Hall in a joint concert festival on Jan. 2 at 2:45 p.m. EST. Their performance can be watched in a live stream at https://www.youtube.com/@londonparade/videos. The performance, as well as the parade, should be available to rewatch at the YouTube link.
