The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is closing a section of Buford Dam Road for four days for routine maintenance.

Buford Dam Road will be closed from Monday, Dec. 18 to Thursday, Dec. 21 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day so that crews can perform “essential guard rail maintenance,” says a post on the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Lake Sidney Lanier Facebook page.

Corps-managed parks impacted by the closure include Lower Overlook, Lower Pool West, West Bank Turn-out, and West Bank Park.

A suggested alternate route is to take GA Highway 20 to travel between Gwinnett and Forsyth Counties.

Anyone with questions is asked to call the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Lake Sidney Lanier Project Office at 770-945-9531.
