Buford 60, Gainesville 39
The Buford varsity girls basketball team (10-1) defeated Gainesville 60-39 on Saturday, Jan. 4 at the Buford Arena in a non-region game.
Lydia Ledford was Buford’s offensive leader after she scored 25 points against the Red Elephants. E’Miah Fields added 13 points and Cybele Forbes contributed with nine points.
On Monday, Jan. 6, the Wolves travel to play Discovery in a region game. The game starts at 6 p.m.
Boys basketball
North Oconee 69, Buford 67
Buford (9-3) lost to North Oconee by just two points on Saturday, Jan. 4 with the final score 69-67 in favor of North Oconee. This was a non-region game as a part of the Sandy Spiel Showcase at Monroe Area High School.
The leading scorers for Buford were Carmelo Williams (15 points), Edward Hunter III (15 points) and Dillion Nixon (14 points).
On Monday, Jan. 6 the Wolves travel to play a Region game against Discovery. The game starts at 7:30 p.m.
