The Buford girls basketball team dominated North Gwinnett 71-24 to advance to the GHSA Class 7A Elite Eight on Friday, Feb. 23 at the Buford Arena.
The Lady Wolves scored early and often as they led the Lady Bulldogs 57-15 at halftime. Buford’s full-court press attack style kept North Gwinnett’s offense in check, allowing just nine points in the first quarter, six in the second and third quarters, and three in the fourth quarter.
When Buford returned from halftime, the bench was brought in to play North Gwinnett, allowing nine different Lady Wolves to score. Senior Ava Grace Watson led the way with 18 points, followed by sophomore Lydia Ledford with 17 points. Freshman E’miah Fields contributed nine points and senior Alyssa Green had eight points.
Buford will host North Paulding in the Elite Eight. The game date and time are TBD.
