Windy conditions turned a fire at a vacant mobile home into multiple fires that Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services had to battle on Friday afternoon, Jan. 5.
Firefighters responded to a call about a residential fire in the 1400 block of Railroad Ave in Buford at approximately 1:30 p.m. on Friday.
A post on the department’s social media said, “Fire crews on the scene found a fully involved vacant mobile home with multiple spot fires due to the winds.”
Police were forced to close both Railroad Ave and Shadburn Ave for several hours as firefighters extinguished the multiple spot fires stemming from the vacant mobile home fire.
The original mobile home fire and the spot fires were all fully extinguished after approximately two hours.
No injuries were reported on the scene.
