Gwinnett County Police have been investigating the incident that occurred on May 24 near the 6000 block of Apple Grove Road in Buford.

The two robbery victims had their jewelry, debit card, air pods and license stolen by a man armed with a gun and four accomplices.

Detectives discovered a vehicle believed to have been used in connection with the armed robbery. Edmond Buggs, 17 of Lawrenceville has been associated with the vehicle and had been arrested for a separate armed robbery charge. After being questioned, Buggs admitted to his involvement in the Buford armed robbery and he gave up the identities of his accomplices.

Buggs named 17-year-old Jay-Lan Broughton of Duluth as the male armed with a gun involved in the Buford armed robbery on May 24. Police say that they were able to corroborate the identification with video surveillance that captured the robbery.

In a statement from the Gwinnett County Police Department, they said, “Detectives have attempted to arrest Broughton but have not been able to locate him. He is possibly still armed with a black handgun and may still be somewhere in Gwinnett County. Investigators are hoping the public can help provide tips on his location.”
