Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services were dispatched to a house fire in Sugar Hill on Friday morning, Sept. 27 that displaced two adults.

At 9:21 a.m., fire crews with Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services were dispatched to the home in the 1100 block of Owen Circle NE in Sugar Hill near Lanier High School. Firefighters arrived on the scene five minutes later and reported a working fire in the single-story, single-family home with a basement.

Crews immediately got to work to bring the fire under control, and the fire was brought under control at 10:43 a.m.

“The structure sustained heavy damage including a compromised floor system,” said Capt. Ryan McGiboney, a Gwinnett County Fire Public Information Officer.

There were no reported injuries. However, two adults were displaced by the fire and have been connected with the American Red Cross for assistance.

Gwinnett County fire investigators responded to the scene and said the cause of the fire was undetermined.
