Firefighters with Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services were called to battle a house fire in the Buford/Sugar Hill area in the soaring afternoon heat on Tuesday, August 22.

At 2 p.m., fire crews responded to a call about a house on fire in the 5500 block of Addison Woods Place.

Upon arrival, firefighters deployed three fire hoses to combat the flames shooting out of the roof. They also raised the aerial ladder truck to help extinguish the fire.

According to Gwinnett County Fire Assistant PIO Jessica Joiner, no injuries were reported at the scene.

Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services took to their social media to express their gratefulness that no one was home at the time of the fire and for the kindness of neighbors.

“We also want to thank the neighbors who placed tents nearby for additional shade,” the post read.

The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time.
