With the high school basketball season over, end-of-season awards are being announced and local players are being honored with awards.
The Gwinnett Tip-Off Club and the Georgia Basketball Coaches Association/Georgia Athletic Coaches Association have released their end-of-season awards.
Buford’s Ava Grace Watson and Lydia Ledford were named to the Gwinnett Tip-Off Club’s Girls All-County Team. Chase James-Robinson of Buford and Carter Watkins of Seckinger were named to the Gwinnett Tip-Off Club’s Boys All-County Team.
Each school in Gwinnett County names one girl and one boy basketball player to the Gwinnett Tip-Off Club’s All-Academic Team. This year’s recipients were Betty Nguyen and Cole Hauser of Buford, Oluwadamilare Falade and Amari Morgan of Lanier, and Megan Whitt and Christian Pak of Seckinger.
Buford senior and Ohio State Commit Ava Grace Watson was named the GBCA/GACA Girls 7A North Player of the Year.
Buford sophomore Lydia Ledford received GBCA/GACA Girls 7A North All-State Team honors while Buford senior Chase James-Robinson was named to the GBCA/GACA Boys 7A North All-State Team.
Lanier senior Tahai Morgan was honored with being named to the GBCA/GACA Boys 6A South All-State Team.
Carter Watkins of Seckinger received GBCA/GACA Boys 4A North All-State Team honors.
