In the early morning hours on Monday, October 16, a man was shot at a residence in Buford and later died at the hospital, according to the Gwinnett County Police Department.

Officers with the North Precinct responded to a “person shot” call shortly before 3 a.m. on Allen Street in downtown Buford. 

Upon arrival, officers located Quentin Cantrell, 35, inside a vehicle with a gunshot wound. Cantrell was transported to a local hospital, where he later died from his wounds.

After discovering Cantrell, additional officers began searching the area for suspects. 

“At this time, detectives are following up on leads and trying to identify at least two other individuals who may be involved. The motive for this crime remains under investigation,” said Gwinnett County Police in a released statement.

No further details have been released at this time.
