Buford’s 10 individual region champions helped the team secure the Region 8-7A traditional wrestling title on Saturday, Feb. 3 at Collins Hill High School.
Buford finished in first place with a score of 299.0, and Mill Creek came in second place with 226.5. Mountain View finished third with a score of 178.0 to round out the top three teams in the region.
Buford’s individual region champions were DJ Clarke, 113; Kieron McCormack, 126; Maddox McArthur, 132; Drew Gorman, 138; Hudson Danielson, 150; Callum McCormack, 157; Grayson Santee, 165; Conor McCloskey, 190; Aaron Riner, 215; and Albert Butler, 285.
Other top finishers for the Wolves were Rylan Ibold, 120 (second place); Gavin Pope, 144 (second place); Jax Pope, 175 (second place); and Tyson Matz, 106 (third place).
