While playing on the road at St. Pius on Thursday, August 24, the Buford volleyball team won their first match against Blessed Trinity 2-1 and St. Pius won the second match 2-1.
It took three sets to defeat Blessed Trinity in the first match of the night. The set scores were 25-16, 23-25, 15-9.
The standouts for the Wolves in the first match were Payton Danley with eight kills, Alexa Flowers had eight digs and Libby Williams had 24 assists.
In the second match of the night, Buford lost to St. Pius in three sets. Buford lost the first set 15-25, won the second set 25-14 and barely lost the third set 14-16.
Sophomore Clara Briley led both the offense and defense for Buford against St. Pius. She had nine kills and 13 digs in that match. In the second set, Payton Danley had a strong performance while serving with four aces.
Buford’s overall season record is now 6-4.
The Wolves are once again on the road on Saturday, August 26. They play Lumpkin County at 8:30 a.m. and Heritage at 11:30 a.m.
