The Buford gymnastics team won their third consecutive state championship title on Friday, April 19 at the Buford Arena.
Buford scored 110.250 to beat out the runner-up North Forsyth who finished with 110.025. West Forsyth and Carrollton round out the top four finishers. Buford placed first overall on the bars and floor, third on the vault and fourth on the beam.
Buford got top finishes from Johanna Sasser, Abby Hamilton and Bellarae Newby.
Sasser finished fourth in the all-around competition with a combined score of 37.575 and fourth on the floor with a 9.325.
Newby took third place on the floor with a 9.500 and Hamilton posted a fourth-place finish on the bars with a 9.425.
