The Buford girls’ soccer team racks up Region 8-7A awards, including three individual Player of the Year awards. The awards come off of a great season for the Lady Wolves. They won their region championship, had an impressive 17-0-1 regular season record and won their first-round state playoffs game against Wheeler.
Junior Sophia Martelli was named the All-Region Forward of the Year. Senior Abby Kilman won the All-Region Midfielder of the Year Award and fellow senior Alina Pope received the All-Region Goalkeeper of the Year Award.
The Lady Wolves to make the First Team All-Region were Abby Kilman, Sophia Martelli, Alina Pope, Evany Torres, Sabrie Vargas and Yazzie Vargas.
Buford continues their quest for a state championship in girls’ soccer when the Lady Wolves host Milton on Tuesday, April 23 in the second round of the state playoffs.
