Parks Cleveland, a catcher for Buford High School’s varsity baseball team announced that he has chosen to further his academic and baseball careers at Brevard College next fall.

Brevard College is a private college located in Brevard, N.C. with an undergraduate student population of 780. The Brevard Tornados compete in the NCAA Division III in the USA South Athletic Conference.

“He (Parks) is a player blessed with skills and knowledge of the game, but more importantly, a set of intangibles that make him special on the field, in the classroom, in our community, and in our locker room,” said Buford head baseball coach Stuart Chester.

The 6-foot-2, 195-pound senior began his baseball career at just 3 years old playing in the Greater Buford Athletic Association youth baseball league at the Legion Fields. Cleveland transitioned to travel ball at age 9. Currently, in addition to playing for Buford High School, he is also a member of the Aquasox travel team. Cleveland is rated as a 7 by Perfect Game.

“Parks sets the example for us all to follow, not just in baseball but in life as well.  He has worked very hard on his skill set as well as in the weight room.  Brevard is blessed to have Parks Cleveland in their program just as Buford Baseball!” added Chester.
