Both the Buford boys and girls basketball teams defeated Southwest Dekalb on Wednesday, Dec. 20 at the Buford Arena.
Buford’s boys team beat Southwest Dekalb 58-51, improving to an 8-1 overall season record.
Senior Brennan Wansley led the Wolves in scoring with 13 points while fellow senior Asa Williams contributed 11 points to defeat the Panthers.
The Buford girls basketball team won with a score of 64-29. They also improved to an 8-1 overall season record.
Senior Ava Grace Watson scored 18 points against Southwest Dekalb, the most of any of the Lady Wolves during the game. Other standouts for Buford were freshman E’miah Fields, who contributed 13 points and sophomore Lydia Ledford added 10 points.
Buford’s boys basketball team will play next on Friday, Dec. 22 against Sandy Creek in the Lemon St. Classic at Marietta High School. The game begins at 2:30 p.m.
The Lady Wolves will play again on Friday, Dec. 29 against Tift County at Loganville High School at 1 p.m.
