The Buford varsity baseball team is riding an 11-game winning streak going into the eighth week of the season.

Last week, Buford (15-4, 9-0) swept the three-game series with fellow Region 8-7A opponent Central Gwinnett. The Wolves outscored the Black Knights 49-5 during the three games. Buford has now won 18 consecutive region games going back to last season.

The Wolves are the No. 1 team in Region 8-7A with a three-game lead over the No. 2 team in the region, Mill Creek. Buford won all three games in their series against the Hawks giving them the region lead and the tie-breaker.

Buford is ranked in Class 7A as the No. 5 team by MaxPreps and the No. 3 team by the AJC’s ScoreAtlanta.

The Wolves will be playing non-region opponents this week because of Spring Break. On Monday, April 1, Buford traveled to Grayson to play the Rams in a doubleheader. Buford will once again take to the road on Wednesday, April 3 as they travel to play the undefeated, No. 1 team in Region 4-6A Marist.
