It’s one of the best community events that takes place each year, Buford’s annual Homecoming Parade and Game. This year’s Homecoming Day is on Friday, Oct. 18.

The parade features floats from Buford High School’s senior, junior, sophomore and freshman classes, various school clubs, varsity and JV cheerleaders and football players, 2024 BHS Homecoming Court, the Buford Band of Wolves, cheerleaders and football players with the Buford Youth Football Association and more.

Schools will be on an early-release schedule to give families time to make it to either participate in or be spectators for the Homecoming parade. The parade begins at 3 p.m. and begins at the Buford Arena on Sawnee Ave. It will travel up Sawnee Ave past Buford Middle School, Buford City Park, The Legion Fields, Buford City Schools Central Office and Buford Elementary School before turning left onto East Main Street. Before ending at South Lee Street, the parade will travel up Main Street past the Bona Allen Mansion and the historic business buildings.

All roads intersecting the parade route will be blocked and no traffic will be allowed to access the parade route on Main Street or Sawnee Ave beginning at 2:30 p.m. Moreno Street from South Lee Street to Wilson Street will also be impacted as that street is used as the parade’s return route. The streets will reopen when the parade is completely over for the safety of everyone involved.

Parking is available at each school in the Buford City School system, the Legion Fields, Buford City Park, along Main Street and the Downtown Parking Deck on Moreno Street. To park anywhere along the parade route, you must be in place before 2:30 p.m.

Come out with the family, bring bags for candy and come decked out in Kelly green and gold to show your Buford spirit!

Homecoming Day festivities will continue at the Buford High School football game where the Wolves play the Central Gwinnett Black Knights at 7:30 p.m. at Tom Riden Stadium at 2750 Sawnee Ave, Buford Ga. This year’s Homecoming Court will be presented during half-time and the Homecoming Queen will be crowned.

Tickets must be purchased at gofan.co. No tickets are sold at the gates. Buford has a strict clear bag policy so plan accordingly.
