Buford 81, Mountain View 66
Senior guard Chase James-Robinson scored his 1,000th career point on Friday, Jan. 5 at the Buford Arena. The 1,000th point was scored in the third quarter on a free throw against Mountain View.
Buford would go on to beat fellow Region 8-7A opponent Mountain View 81-66. This game marked the beginning of region play for the Wolves.
Leading the Wolves were senior Brennan Wansley who scored 19 points, James-Robinson got 15 points and senior Jackson Houston also contributed 15 points.
Buford’s overall season record improved to 12-3, 1-0.
The Wolves will travel to play Mill Creek on Tuesday, Jan. 9 at 7:30 p.m. in another region game.

Buford 79, Mountain View 23
The Buford Lady Wolves opened Region 8-7A play in commanding fashion after defeating Mountain View 79-23 at the Buford Arena on Friday night.
Buford’s defense shined as they stifled Mountain View’s offense from the start. The Lady Bears only scored three points. The Lady Bears gained a little traction in the second quarter scoring 15 points but that momentum could not be maintained. Going into halftime, Buford was up 48-18. The Lady Wolves continued their relentless play once again limiting Mountain View’s offense with the Lady Bears only scoring five points in the whole second half of the game.
Eleven different Buford players scored against the Lady Bears with senior Ava Grace Watson leading the offense with 16 points scored. Other top scorers for the Lady Wolves were sophomore Lydia Ledford with 15 points scored, freshman E’miah Fields added 11 points and senior Cadence Jenkinson contributed nine points.
Buford’s overall season record improved to 12-1, 1-0.
The Lady Wolves will also be on the road to play Mill Creek on Tuesday, Jan. 9 at 6 p.m. in a region game.
