Buford High School senior KJ Bolden announced his decision live on On3.com Saturday night to commit to the Florida State football program ending months of intense speculation. 

Bolden received over 35 college offers and in January 2023, narrowed down his offers to five. Those were Georgia, Florida State, Auburn, Alabama and Ohio State. His decision to commit to Florida State surprised many as Georgia was speculated as the frontrunner to win his commitment.

Bolden is a consensus five-star recruit who plays on both sides of the ball as both a safety and a wide receiver. The 6-foot-1, 188-pound safety who is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 1 safety and No. 7 overall recruit in the Class of 2024 nationwide. He is No. 2 overall in Georgia, second only to his teammate Dylan Raiola in the senior class.

In 2022, Bolden had 43 tackles for the defense and offensively, he had 23 receptions for 422 yards and two touchdowns. He was a Junior All-American Second Team selection and as a sophomore, he earned All-American First Team Defense honors. He has helped Buford to two state titles and last year, helped the Wolves to an 11-1 season.

Not only is Bolden a talented football player but he has also excelled in track and field. Bolden competed in the 4×100-meter relay team, 100-meter dash and triple jump. He was part of the 4×100 relay team that posted the fastest time in the nation in February 2022. At the 2021 GHSA Class AAAAAA State Championship, Bolden finished second just behind teammate Isaiah Bond in the 100-meter.
