A 19-year-old man from Buford was arrested and charged in connection with multiple armed robberies according to the Gwinnett County Police Department.

Gwinnett County police officers caught up with Trevon Hogges, 19 of Buford on Feb. 26 after he drew their attention for driving a stolen vehicle. Officers said they attempted to stop Hogges, but he decided to flee the scene. Gwinnett Police Department’s Aviation Unit was called in to assist and was able to keep track of the suspect. Hogges was apprehended after he crashed the stolen vehicle and tried to flee on foot they said.
This arrest drew closer scrutiny and “through a series of investigative methods,” police were able to link Hogges to two armed robberies from earlier in the year. One of those robberies occurred in unincorporated Duluth on Jan. 14. Gwinnett County police said, Hogges attempted an armed robbery at a check-cashing business located at 3675 Satellite Boulevard.
Two days later, a similar attempted robbery occurred at a check-cashing business in Smyrna and the suspect matched the same description as the robbery suspect from the Jan. 14 incident according to police.
Hogges has been charged with aggravated assault, reckless driving, fleeing, theft by receiving stolen property, obstruction, possession of a controlled substance and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
