Seckinger 53, Johns Creek 51

The Seckinger boys’ basketball team defeated Johns Creek 53-51 at home in a Region 7-5A game on Tuesday, Jan. 7.

Senior M.J. Lloyd led the Jaguar’s offense after scoring 22 points against Johns Creek.

Seckinger’s overall season record improved to 9-6 and 3-1 in Region 7-5A.

The Jaguars will travel to play Lanier in another region game on Thursday, Jan. 9 at 7:30 p.m.

Chattahoochee 71, Lanier 60

The Lanier boys basketball team lost a tough Region 7-5A game to Chattahoochee with Chattahoochee claiming a 71-60 win over the Longhorns on Tuesday night.

Lanier’s overall season record falls to 8-9 and 1-4 in Region 7-5A.

The Longhorns will host Seckinger on Thursday night at 7:30 p.m. in a region game.

Girls basketball

Lanier 44, Chattahoochee 18

The Lanier girls basketball team picks up an important Region 7-5A win after defeating Chattahoochee 44-18 on the road.

Sophomore Michelle Ezumah led the Longhorns with 15 points, 15 rebounds, two steals and two blocks. Junior Jordan Johnson also had a good performance against Chattahoochee, with 14 points, four steals, three blocks and three rebounds.

Lanier’s overall season record improved to 9-8 and 3-1 in Region 7-5A.

The Longhorns will host Seckinger on Thursday, Jan. 9 at 6 p.m.

Johns Creek 54, Seckinger 29

The Johns Creek girls basketball team defeated their host, Seckinger 54-29 in Region 7-5A play on Tuesday night.

Seckinger’s overall season record fell to 3-7 and 0-4 in Region 7-5A.

Seckinger travels to play another region game at Lanier on Thursday, Jan. 9 at 6 p.m.
