Caroline Stanton pitched the third perfect game of her career in Buford’s 9-0 win over Marist on Monday at the Buford Softball Complex. It took just five innings for Stanton and her teammates to put away the War Eagles.

In Stanton’s five innings of work on the mound, she struck out 12 batters and did not give up any hits, runs or walks.

Offensive standouts for the Wolves were junior Summer Castorri (3-for-4, three doubles, one RBI, two runs scored), senior Izzy Rettiger (2-for-3, two RBIs, one run scored, one stolen base), sophomore Janie Goldin (2-for-3, one RBI, two runs scored, four stolen bases) and junior Addie Rackley (1-for-2, double, one RBI, one run scored).

Buford’s overall season record improved to 22-1 and 11-0 in Region 8-6A. The Wolves play their final regular season game against region opponent Mountain View on Tuesday, Oct. 8 at Mountain View. The game is set to start at 5:55 p.m.
