Caroline Stanton, a junior at Buford High School announced on Monday, Sept. 16 that she has decided to further her academic and softball careers at the University of Florida. The announcement came after Stanton, the No. 1 ranked softball player in the Class of 2026, took a weekend trip to Gainesville, Fla. as reported by ON3.com.
The right-handed pitcher has been instrumental in helping the Buford Wolves softball team to win back-to-back state championships.
Stanton was 14-0 on the mound during her sophomore season, pitching 81.33 innings with a season ERA of 0.77. She averaged close to 13 strikeouts per game with a total of 147 strikeouts. Offensively, she was a force as well with a .384 batting average.
After her sophomore season performance, she earned the distinction of being selected as the 2024 MaxPreps Georgia Softball Player of the Year.
