The Gwinnett County Police Department is attempting to locate two women accused of going on an $8,000 shoplifting spree at the Mall of Georgia.
On June 22, officers with the North Precinct responded to a shoplifting call at Dick’s Sporting Goods located at 3333 Buford Drive inside of the Mall of Georgia in Buford. A store employee called 911 to report seeing two women shoplifting large quantities of merchandise.
The two female suspects then walked out of Dick’s Sporting Goods and headed towards a white passenger vehicle parked outside of the store. The suspects dropped the stolen merchandise and fled on foot when confronted by a store associate.
Officers obtained a search warrant for the white passenger vehicle the two suspects left behind when they fled from the store associate. While searching the vehicle, officers discovered six large trash bags containing merchandise from nine stores inside the Mall of Georgia. The total estimated value of the stolen items is $8,000.
“Through a series of investigative methods, officers were able to identify the two female suspects as, Nakenda Janea Thompson Fevrier (age 27, Pooler) and Shacarrie Deasia Heyward (age 29, Savannah),” according to a released statement from the Gwinnett County Police Department.
Both women each face five counts of felony theft by shoplifting, nine counts of possession of tools for the commission of a crime, nine counts of loitering and prowling, and four counts of misdemeanor shoplifting.
The whereabouts of the two suspects are currently unknown and police are asking for the public’s help locating them.
