Lanier High School hosted a signing ceremony for National Signing Day on Wednesday, Feb. 7 where four football players signed their National Letter of Intent (NLI).

Lanier staff, as well as family and friends, packed the media center at the high school to witness Tayo Ashadele, Rylan Haight, Chase Jameson and Preston Ratliff sign their NLI.

Ashadele signed with The United States Air Force Academy in Colorado. He played in the running back position for the Longhorns. During his senior season, Ashadele had 175 carries totaling 964 yards and 10 touchdowns. He received All-Region First Team honors for the 2023 season.

Haight chose to sign with the University of North Carolina – Pembroke. Haight was a vital part of Lanier’s offensive line and was named All-Region First Team for the 2023 season.

Chase Jameson signs with Limestone University. Special photo.

Jameson signed with Limestone University in Gaffney, South Carolina. Jameson was primarily a wide receiver for Lanier but also saw action rushing. During the 2023 season, he had 52 receptions for 861 yards and seven touchdowns as a wide receiver. Jameson had another six rushing touchdowns from 24 carries and a total of 92 yards. His offensive totals for 2023 were 997 yards and 13 touchdowns. Jameson was named the Region 8-6A Offensive Player of the Yard for 2023.

Ratliff also signed with Limestone University. He was the team’s primary quarterback for the last two seasons. Ratliff broke several Lanier High School records including most completions in a single game at 19, most yards in a season with 2,321 yards and most yards in career with 3,714 yards. Ratliff received All-Region Second Team honors for the 2023 season.
